Abstract
A wide variety of mechanical problems in many engineering fields, both traditional and innovative, is modeled by using beam elements. In many interesting applications, geometric nonlinearities are coupled to material complex constitutive behaviors and enhanced mixed formulations for beams were successfully proposed. Aim of this Mini-Symposium is to collect the most recent contributions to this field and celebrate Professor Enzo Ciampi who was a pioneer of force-based formulations for beams.
